A teenager and her boyfriend allegedly drugged and strangled seven members of her family, including children aged three to five, because the elders would not let the couple marry. In a brutal attack that unfolded in front of a 10-year-old, a property dealer was strangulated, stabbed and clubbed to death by four unidentified assailants at his Khanpur home in Neb Sarai, South Delhi. Dalbir Singh Yadav's son Yash was the sole witness to the murder. The criminals struck around 9 am on Friday morning.  

Four men, including a businessman and a property dealer, were murdered in separate cases in the city within 12 hours with police today saying business rivalry and robbery could be the motive behind them. An accountant and a 25-year-old were among the other victims and in three cases, the attackers were unknown. The four cases were reported between 9:45 pm yesterday and 9:30 am today.  

With four murders in 12 hours starting 9.30 pm on Thursday, the national capital appears bent on strengthening its claim to the sobriquet 'crime capital of India'. The dead include a property dealer and a businessman and the motives, business rivalry and robbery. Two murders happened in South Delhi at around 9.30 am on Friday.  

The Cedar Rapids Police Department is recommending that the City Council not renew the liquor license for Discount Liquor, 3132 First Ave. NE. The matter is on the council's consent agenda for its Wednesday evening meeting, which typically means the request or recommendation is routine and will be followed or approved by the council.
